Glendale is a large West Valley city known for its sports and entertainment districts, a historic downtown and a wide range of neighborhoods. It sits close to Phoenix, Peoria and Surprise, with Loop 101 and Loop 303 making it easy to get around. These are the newest homes for sale in Glendale where Golf is listed as a community feature in the MLS listing data. Golf communities range from private country clubs to public courses that wind through a neighborhood, so it helps to know which kind you are looking at.
The MLS "Golf" feature does not tell you whether a club membership is included or required, so confirm membership rules, dues and HOA fees before you make an offer.
Every purchase is different, and I'm a strong negotiator who keeps negotiating until the keys are in my client's hands. On some homes you may also be able to take over the seller's existing FHA, VA or USDA loan; see my assumable mortgage guide.
What golf courses are in Glendale, AZ?
Glendale's main golf neighborhoods are built around two courses, Arrowhead Country Club and The Legend at Arrowhead. In 2025 the two were combined into one private club called The Clubs at Arrowhead. Both are 18-hole courses designed by Arnold Palmer, and the two campuses are less than three miles apart.
Can the public still play The Legend at Arrowhead?
No, The Legend at Arrowhead has been part of the private Clubs at Arrowhead since early 2025, after years as a daily-fee course. The Water's Edge Icehouse restaurant at The Legend stays open to the public. If golf access matters to you, ask the club how membership works before you buy a home on either course.
What is Arrowhead Ranch?
Arrowhead Ranch is a north Glendale community built on what was once a large citrus farm. Glendale annexed the land in 1979, and the master plan was built around golf courses and lakes. Arrowhead Towne Center opened just south of it in 1993. For more on the city as a whole, see our Moving to Glendale guide.
Has a Glendale golf course closed and been sold for homes?
Yes, the city closed Glen Lakes Golf Course, a municipal course near 55th and Northern avenues, in 2019 and sold the site to Towne Development. The redevelopment plan called for 173 single-family homes and a 10-acre park. In 2024 Richmond American Homes bought those 173 finished lots.
What should I check before buying a home next to a golf course in Glendale?
Start by looking up the zoning of the course and the lots around it on the City of Glendale's GIS Interactive Map, then confirm it with the city's Planning and Zoning staff, since the city says the map is not the final word. Ask for the HOA's CC&Rs too, so you know the rules for golf-facing lots. If you are comparing other parts of the Valley, see our Scottsdale golf community homes page.
