The school sits on Grange Parkway off Gary Road, near Gary and Riggs roads in the south part of Queen Creek. The district's press release on the school's name says it was built inside The Harvest at Queen Creek subdivision, on land the Schnepf family farmed. Queen Creek spans both Maricopa and Pinal counties, so nearby homes can carry different county records even inside town limits.
The Queen Creek Unified Governing Board approved the Schnepf name unanimously in November 2020 to honor a family that has farmed in Queen Creek for more than 70 years. The Trailblazer name ties back to that farming history.
On its website, the school lists these programs and activities:
The school also has a parent-teacher organization that meets monthly. Program details can change from year to year, so check the school's site for this year's offerings.
QCUSD offers free all-day kindergarten at all of its elementary schools. A child must turn 5 by August 31, and children who turn 5 between September 1 and December 31 can apply for early-entrance testing. New families enroll online through the district. You'll usually need a birth certificate, immunization records, proof of residency, a parent photo ID and records from the last school.
To see which school serves an address, use the district's school boundary map. Families outside a school's boundary can apply for open enrollment, which depends on available space, and parents provide transportation for open-enrolled students. Please confirm boundaries with the district before you buy. A home near a school is not guaranteed to be assigned to it, and boundaries can change. The district doesn't publish a feeder list for Schnepf on its site, so ask QCUSD which junior high and high school serve a specific address.
