Encanterra is a gated Shea Homes Trilogy country club community at Combs and Gantzel Roads on the southeast edge of Queen Creek, in the Pinal County part of town. It mixes select 55+ neighborhoods with homes open to all ages, and it centers on a private Tom Lehman golf course and the La Casa club, about 60,000 square feet.
This page looks at Encanterra as part of the Town of Queen Creek: the 2019 annexation, town services, the all-ages side and the new homes Shea is still selling. If you want the San Tan Valley angle and more on the 55+ resort lifestyle, see my Encanterra San Tan Valley page.

Encanterra sits at Combs Road and Gantzel Road, which turns into Ironwood Road to the north. The Shea sales office is at 1035 E Combs Road, and the club is at 36460 N Encanterra Drive. Both use Queen Creek, AZ 85140 addresses.
Here is the part many buyers do not know. The area used to be part of unincorporated San Tan Valley. In October 2019 the Town of Queen Creek adopted Ordinance 712-19 to annex about 775 acres that include Encanterra, and Queen Creek Fire took over from Rural Metro. A residents' challenge was dismissed, and the Arizona Court of Appeals upheld that dismissal in March 2020. Annexation does not change the county, so Encanterra is still in Pinal County. Neighboring San Tan Valley voted to incorporate in 2025, which has added to the address confusion. If town limits matter for a specific home, I check the parcel with the town and county.
Shea Homes builds Encanterra under the Trilogy Resort Community brand, and building here started around 2008. Shea describes the community as partial 55+, with select 55+ Trilogy neighborhoods alongside homes open to all ages. Home types are single-family detached homes and duplexes, offered in collections Shea calls Amalfi, Francia, Italia and Espana.
Shea is still selling. Its site lists quick move-in homes and model tours, so you can compare a brand-new home against resales in older sections. When you shop new construction, bring your own agent on the first visit; my article on using a buyer's agent for new construction in Arizona explains why.
The golf course is a private 18-hole Tom Lehman signature design with a walkable core layout. It has hosted the Gateway Tour Championship, the Thunderbirds Classic and U.S. Open sectional qualifying. Golf membership is right-to-use, and the club says it does not currently accept non-resident members.
Off the course, the La Casa club runs about 60,000 square feet, and The Algarve adds about 8,000 more. Shea lists Palma Kitchen & Tap, Solaz Grill, a resort club, a fitness center, a spa, art and culinary studios, pools and pickleball courts. Some amenities are tied to the 55+ side, so I confirm which ones come with a specific home.
Sources do not agree here. Shea lists Queen Creek Unified schools, Jack Barnes Elementary and Eastmark High School. Two MLS listings in Encanterra list J.O. Combs Unified schools: Ellsworth Elementary, J.O. Combs Middle School and Combs High School. Please confirm schools for a specific address directly with each district before you buy.
The association is the Encanterra Community Association. It manages the gate, common areas and community rules. Golf is a separate membership with its own terms. Because the community mixes 55+ and all-ages neighborhoods, I check which rules and amenities apply to each home and pull the current HOA documents and dues.
First decide between a 55+ neighborhood and an all-ages one, since that shapes everything else. Then compare new Shea homes against resales and look at golf membership terms if you plan to play. Some resale sellers have loans a buyer can take over, so see my guide to buying a home with an assumable mortgage in Arizona. My Queen Creek 55+ homes page covers other active-adult choices nearby, and my first steps to buying a home in Arizona helps if you are just getting started.
As a reseller you compete with Shea's new homes, so pricing and presentation matter. I compare your home to recent resales in the same section and to what Shea is offering now, and I market the amenities buyers are looking for. My article on how to price your Arizona home to sell explains my approach.

Is Encanterra in Queen Creek or San Tan Valley?
Encanterra was annexed into the Town of Queen Creek in 2019, and it stays in Pinal County. Before that it was part of unincorporated San Tan Valley, which is why you still see both names.
Is Encanterra a 55+ community?
Only partly. Shea calls it partial 55+, with select age-restricted Trilogy neighborhoods and other homes open to all ages.
Is the Encanterra golf course private?
Yes. The Tom Lehman course is private with right-to-use memberships, and the club says it does not currently accept non-resident members.
Can I still buy a new home in Encanterra?
Yes, Shea Homes still lists quick move-in homes and tours. Resales are also available across the older sections.
