Red Mountain Ranch Homes for Sale in Mesa, AZ 85215

Red Mountain Ranch is a golf course community of about 800 acres in northeast Mesa, just north of Power and Thomas Roads, with the Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway a few blocks south. It has single-family, custom, townhome and condo homes built mostly from the late 1980s to the early 2000s, set around the Pete Dye-designed Red Mountain Ranch Country Club.

Red Mountain Ranch borders Usery Mountain Regional Park, and many streets look out at Red Mountain and the Superstition Mountains. It has several gated pockets, an optional country club and a single master HOA. Here is what I want you to know before you tour.

Where it is

Red Mountain Ranch is in far northeast Mesa. Power Road forms its eastern edge, Thomas Road is at the south end and the Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway is a few blocks south. That freeway links you to Tempe, Scottsdale and Phoenix. Usery Mountain Regional Park borders the community, and Las Sendas and the Red Mountain Gateway shopping area are close by.

The homes

The HOA says the community was built starting in 1988, and the golf course opened in 1986. Listing data shows most homes built from the late 1980s through the early 2000s, with a few newer builds. Listing guides put the total at more than 1,600 homes across custom homes, single-family homes, townhomes and condos. Continental is one builder named in listings.

Several sections are gated, including Sky Mountain Estates, the Red Rock subdivision, The Rock townhomes, Sienna Hills and Red Rock Pass. Other named areas include Red Mountain Estates, Red Mountain Village and Fairways. The Villages has its own CC&Rs. Views of Red Mountain to the north and the Superstition Mountains to the east are a big reason buyers look here, so I pay close attention to lot position on every showing.

Things to do

Red Mountain Ranch Country Club, at 6425 E Teton Circle, is a Pete Dye design. The club calls it the only Pete Dye Signature Course in Arizona. It started as a private club and is now semi-private and open to the public. Membership is optional and separate from the HOA, with golf, tennis, pickleball, fitness and pool categories. The club also has a fitness center, tennis and pickleball courts, a pool and The Player's Grill.

The HOA maintains neighborhood parks, a lake and streetscapes. Parks include Red Mountain Ranch Community Park, Northwest Park and Red Rock Park, which has pickleball courts and open grass. For hiking and mountain biking, Usery Mountain Regional Park is right next door.

Schools

Red Mountain Ranch is in Mesa Public Schools. Listings and neighborhood guides show Red Mountain Ranch Elementary (on E Raftriver Street), Shepherd Junior High and Red Mountain High School. Please confirm schools for a specific address directly with the district.

HOA basics

The master association is the Red Mountain Ranch Owners Association, managed by CCMC. It takes care of the parks, the lake and streetscapes, and it enforces the CC&Rs. Some sections, such as The Villages, have their own CC&Rs, and gated areas may have added rules. The country club is a separate entity, so joining it is your choice. I pull the HOA documents for each home so you can see every rule and fee.

Decide early whether you want a gated section, a golf course lot or a mountain view, because those features shape both the price and the competition for a home.
