About the school

Pinnacle opened in 2000 and serves grades 9 through 12. Its teams are the Pioneers, and the school colors are navy and white. On a regular day, Period 1 starts at 7:30 a.m., lunch runs from 11:36 a.m. to 12:06 p.m., and Period 7 ends at 2:10 p.m. Students can take an early Period 0 from 6:30 to 7:25 a.m. On early release days, Period 7 ends at 11:30 a.m. Check the school calendar for those dates.

Honors and Advanced Placement: placement is by teacher approval at registration. The course catalog lists the current AP classes.
Career and technical education: eight programs: Culinary Arts, Digital Photography, Education Professionals, Engineering, Film and Television Production, Graphic Design, Marketing, and Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. The school notes that CTE students can earn college credit while in high school.
Fine arts and STEAM: visual and performing arts, plus STEAM and summer programs.
Clubs: about 39 clubs, such as DECA, FBLA, FCCLA culinary, esports, computer science, Club Unified, French Club and student government.
Athletics: fall badminton, cross country, football, golf, swim and dive, volleyball and girls flag football; winter basketball, soccer and wrestling; spring baseball, softball, tennis, track and field and girls beach volleyball; cheer and pom all year. The AIA lists Pinnacle in the 6A Desert Valley region.

Attendance boundaries and enrollment

PVSchools offers two ways to enroll. Traditional enrollment is for students who live inside the school's boundary. Open enrollment is for students who live outside it, and you apply online when the school has space. Full schools keep waitlists and may use a lottery, and the district does not provide bus service for open-enrolled students. Students moving up to their assigned high school from a PVSchools middle school do not need to reapply.

One key point for buyers: PVSchools lists Pinnacle High School grades 10 through 12 as closed to open enrollment. If attending Pinnacle matters to you, the home's address needs to be inside the boundary. Use the district's "Locate a School" map on the PVSchools enrollment page, and confirm the assignment with the district before you make an offer. Homes near a school are not guaranteed to be assigned to it, and boundaries can change, as they did for 2024-25.
