The hospitals closest by name to the Sun Cities are Banner Boswell Medical Center in Sun City and Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center in Sun City West. Hospitals buyers ask about

Banner Boswell Medical Center, Sun City. 10401 W Thunderbird Blvd, Sun City. Banner lists it as open 24 hours. Buyers shopping the original Sun City often ask about it by name.

Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center, Sun City West. 14502 W Meeker Blvd, Sun City West. Buyers looking at Sun City West, Corte Bella and The Grand ask about it often.

Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, Glendale. 5555 W Thunderbird Road, Glendale. Banner describes it as a Level I adult trauma center for patients 15 and older.

Banner Estrella Medical Center, west Phoenix. 9201 W Thomas Rd, Phoenix. Some buyers comparing PebbleCreek and other southwest Valley communities add it to their list.

Abrazo Health also operates hospitals in the West Valley; check abrazohealth.com for its current campuses. I list names so you can research them. I do not say which one is best.

How this maps to the communities buyers tour

  • Sun City: Banner Boswell is in Sun City itself.
  • Sun City West: Banner Del E. Webb is in Sun City West; many residents also keep Banner Boswell on their list.
  • The Grand (Sun City Grand), Surprise: buyers usually compare Banner Del E. Webb with the Surprise-area options their doctors use.
  • PebbleCreek, Goodyear: match the hospital list to the doctors you choose, not only to the community name.

A hospital is not the same as your primary-care doctor. Confirm which hospitals your preferred doctors use.

Setting up doctors when you move

  1. Ask your current doctors how they transfer records.
  2. Search your insurance directory for doctors accepting new patients near the hospitals you care about.
  3. Ask each practice which hospitals it works with.
  4. Schedule first visits once your local address and insurance cards are updated.
  5. Save the main numbers from the official hospital pages in your phone.

If you buy a lock-and-leave home and spend summers elsewhere, ask the practice how seasonal patients handle follow-ups. This is a planning list, not medical advice.

Medicare plan changes when you move

Medicare.gov says that if you move to a new address that is not in your plan's service area, you can switch to a new Medicare Advantage plan or drug plan. The window begins when you move and continues for two full months after; if you tell your plan before you move, it can start the month before. Plan networks are local, so check that the hospitals and doctors you want are in the new plan.

For free Medicare counseling, Arizona's State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) can be reached at 1-800-432-4040. I am not a Medicare advisor; I help with the home, and they help with the plan.

Choosing a home with medical access in mind

Buyers who stay calm pick two hospitals to research, confirm their doctors, and then choose a 55+ community that fits the home features they want. Tell me which hospitals matter and I will filter homes by location without inventing drive times. Start with the Arizona 55+ Living hub, the 55+ community finder and my West Valley senior services list. Some resale listings carry FHA or VA loans that a qualified buyer may be able to assume, subject to lender approval.
