Pinnacle Peak is a granite summit and city park in north Scottsdale, and the name has spread to the neighborhoods around it, from Pinnacle Peak Country Club on Pinnacle Peak Road near Pima Road to custom-home areas farther north and east. Homes range from 1980s golf-club homes and townhomes to newer custom homes on desert lots with mountain views.
I'm Terry Day with DeLex Realty. "Pinnacle Peak" is not one master-planned community with one HOA. It is a part of north Scottsdale made up of many separate subdivisions, each with its own rules, so this guide walks you through how the area fits together and what to check before you buy.

Pinnacle Peak Park sits at 26802 N. 102nd Way in Scottsdale, ZIP 85262, with Jomax Road along its west side. The peak itself is a landmark you can see from much of north Scottsdale. Pinnacle Peak Road runs east and west south of the park, and Pima Road is the main north-south route on the west side of the area, connecting to Loop 101.
The subdivisions that carry the Pinnacle Peak name are spread out. Pinnacle Peak Country Club is at 8701 E. Pinnacle Peak Road, close to Pima Road and a little under two miles from the peak. Other Pinnacle Peak neighborhoods sit near the park, and a few plats with the name are farther north toward Dixileta Drive and beyond. When I send you homes, I will always tell you exactly where each one sits.
The Pinnacle Peak area was part of Arizona State Trust land before Scottsdale annexed it in the 1980s, according to the park's published history on Wikipedia. Earlier, the Hohokam hunted and gathered here, and later settlers ranched and mined before homes were built within sight of the peak.
Because the area grew over several decades, homes vary a lot. Listing records show homes at Pinnacle Peak Country Club and Pinnacle Peak Estates built in the early to mid 1980s, and homes in neighborhoods such as Pinnacle Peak Shadows built in the 2000s. You will find golf-course homes and townhomes near the club, single-family homes on larger desert lots, and custom homes with boulder and mountain views.
Subdivision names you will see on listings include Pinnacle Peak Country Club and Pinnacle Peak Country Club Estates, Pinnacle Peak Estates, Pinnacle Peak Heights, Pinnacle Peak Shadows, Pinnacle Peak Vistas, Pinnacle Peak Villas, Premiere at Pinnacle Peak and Reserve at Pinnacle Peak. The listings feed on this page includes Scottsdale homes in these and other subdivisions with Pinnacle Peak in the name.

Pinnacle Peak homes fall in different school districts. Listings at Pinnacle Peak Country Club and Pinnacle Peak Estates show Paradise Valley Unified schools: Pinnacle Peak Preparatory, Mountain Trail Middle School and Pinnacle High School. Other Pinnacle Peak neighborhoods show Scottsdale Unified schools, such as Cheyenne Traditional School, Copper Ridge School, Mountainside Middle School and Chaparral High School. Please confirm boundaries with the district for any home you are considering. See also my Paradise Valley Unified and Scottsdale Unified pages.
Each subdivision has its own HOA, CC&Rs and design rules, and a few older custom-home areas may have no HOA at all. Rules on exterior paint, landscaping, walls, short-term rentals and parking differ from one neighborhood to the next. Living near the country club does not make you a club member. The club sets its own membership process, separate from any HOA. Ask for the HOA documents early and read them before your inspection period ends.
Start by deciding what matters most: golf, views, lot size, a newer home or a lower-maintenance townhome. Then we can focus on the right few subdivisions instead of the whole area. On older homes, budget time for roof, plumbing and HVAC checks. On desert lots, look at drainage, wildlife, and how close the home sits to a wash or trail. If you are using a VA or FHA loan, ask me about assumable mortgages, and read first steps to buying a home in Arizona.
Buyers compare your home with others in your own subdivision first, then with nearby areas like Troon and Grayhawk. Views, updates and lot privacy drive value here, so good photography and a clear story about the setting matter. Read how to price your Arizona home to sell, then call me for a pricing plan.
Is Pinnacle Peak a gated community?
Pinnacle Peak is an area of north Scottsdale, not a single community, so there is no one gate. Some subdivisions in the area are gated and many are not.
Can I hike Pinnacle Peak?
Yes, Pinnacle Peak Park has a 2-mile one-way trail that the city rates as moderate, taking about one and a half to two hours over and back. Reaching the summit itself takes rock climbing skills.
Do I have to join Pinnacle Peak Country Club if I buy nearby?
No. The club is private and has its own membership process, separate from homeownership. Ask the club directly about membership options.
What school district serves Pinnacle Peak homes?
It depends on the address. Listings show Paradise Valley Unified near the country club and Scottsdale Unified in other Pinnacle Peak neighborhoods, so always confirm with the district.
